For this relaxed family home interior design project in Budens, we were asked to breathe new life into a well-loved living and dining space shared by two parents, their three energetic children, and two friendly dogs. The family had already been living in the house for some time and wanted to elevate the space with thoughtful design choices, without making dramatic changes that wouldn’t withstand the realities of everyday family life.

Our approach focused on adding warmth, texture, and quality where it mattered most. New dining chairs, soft furnishings, and a few carefully selected pieces helped fill in the gaps while working seamlessly with the home’s existing layout. A much-loved sideboard was upcycled and given a fresh look, allowing it to blend beautifully with the updated coastal palette and natural materials such as wood, cotton, and linen.

The final result is a calm yet characterful family home interior that feels comfortable, functional, and lived-in. Reflecting the charm of the Algarve while embracing the lively rhythm of daily family life.
