For this relaxed family home in Budens, we were asked to breathe new life into a well-loved living and dining space shared by two parents, their three energetic children, and two friendly dogs. The family had already been living in the house for some time and wanted to elevate the space with thoughtful design choices — without making dramatic changes that wouldn’t withstand the realities of family life.

We focused on adding warmth, texture, and quality where it mattered most: new dining chairs, soft furnishings, and a few carefully selected pieces to fill in the gaps. Their existing sideboard was upcycled and given a fresh look, blending beautifully with the updated coastal palette and natural materials like wood, cotton, and linen. The final design strikes a balance between calm and character - a comfortable, functional space that reflects the charm of the Algarve while embracing the lively rhythm of daily family life.
